Two materials: nylon over polyethylene
Symbys film is nylon over polyethylene, two materials bonded into one sheet. The poly makes the seal. The nylon adds strength and puncture resistance. Cut a bag open and you can see both layers with your own eyes.

Most of it runs in the sealer you already own
The 11.5-inch bags and the 50-foot roll work with FoodSaver and most suction sealers, so you can keep the machine you have. The 15-inch bags are the exception. They need a 15-inch seal bar, which many consumer machines do not have, and we would rather tell you that here than have you find out with the box already open.

Will these run in the sealer I already own?
The 11.5″ × 22″ bags and the 11.5-inch roll run in most suction sealers, FoodSaver included. The 15″ × 18″ bags need a sealer with a 15-inch seal bar, which many consumer machines do not have. The commercial sealer that handles them is one tap away in the cart.
What is the film made of?
Symbys film is nylon over polyethylene, two materials bonded together. The polyethylene seals. The nylon adds strength and puncture resistance around bones and hard edges. Cut a bag open and hold the edge to the light and you can see both layers.
What does a Symbys bag cost?
About $0.60 a bag, printed on every listing. Two-layer 4 mil film.
What if something is wrong with a bag?
If your bag has a manufacturing defect, we'll make it right. Email us with your order number and a photo and we will sort it out.
What else can I seal in them besides meat?
Cheese, coffee, flour, chips, cereal, most things you open and want to keep sealed. The same bags work in the pantry as well as the freezer.
